              Science Class Report (2)

From Knowledge Unit to Work Project

Study taking steps does not mean we have to glue ourselves to every page of textbooks. A genuine study is for us to find and solve problems happening in our life.

Have you been curious about the famous saying “Food dropped on the ground can be eaten within five seconds.? Do you want to know if salty water could help ice melt faster? What Ph value of water can help plants grow? And how does drinking soda damage the calcium in our body? Instead of watching science shows on TV to find out the answers to certain questions, you could satisfy yourself by conduction your own experiments. This is the project assignment given to each science student of this semester.

Take the saying “Food dropped on the ground can be eaten within five seconds. for example, you are given about three months to finish your project. First, you need to search online for all related information and relevant experiments done in the past.

Then you need to calculate and design, including what type of food to be objects, where to choose, how many times to repeat, etc. More importantly, they need to decide what scientific way to determine whether food is eatable?

At last, students need to finish the project to generate a report to demonstrate in public, which means, students need to find an impressive way to draw the interests of audience and explain their project clearly and knowledge sufficiently. Does it sound like a science seminar asking for a grant? Yes, the only difference is, student winners receive their sense of achievement and applause instead.

From this project, students can go through all challenges that a real scientist will experience, which is a real journey from the unknow to the understood. To prevent students getting lost during their project commitment, the day-to-day training is given from teachers in class. Another long story, let us talk about it in next chapter.
